Blairgowrie

Blairgowrie is a unique township just under 100 kms from the Melbourne CBD. There is so much on offer in this vibrant strip to meet the needs of locals and visitors alike. The compact commercial centre is situated opposite the bay beach, featuring a supermarket, speciality shops and cafes.

Calm and safe sandy beaches front onto Port Phillip Bay which are popular with swimmers and sunbakers. Also fronting Port Phillip Bay is the extensive Blairgowrie Yacht Squadron boat harbour which is a hive of water craft activity.

Spectacular walks and scenery can be enjoyed in the Mornington Peninsula National Park which runs along the rugged Bass Strait coastline. A popular coastal feature for visitors is Bridgewater Bay which is surrounded by a scenic, rocky coastline and features a number of walking tracks and steps down to the beach below.

This unique Village is 15 –20 minutes walk, 5 mins by car, from Sea Wise along the beach or a pathway back along Adelaide Street, towards the Bay and turn left. Walk down for the morning paper at the newsagent, catch up on some magazines you haven't had time to read and maybe even pick up some fresh bread and a cake from the bakery. Enjoy a coffee and cake at one of the local cafes or bribe the kids to walk down by visiting the milk bar for an ice cream.

Steak sausages from the local butchers for the BBQ or even some fresh fish from the fish shop, Blairgowrie has it all! Our IGA supermarket won the fresh fruit and veggie awards for 2009 and 2010, and is the ideal spot to pick up all those forgotten extras, as well as a bottle of local wine or beer to go with dinner. Take a break from cooking and order a take away from Pizza Do, Cafe Legends, or try fish and chips to eat on the beach........ mind the local Seagulls. Even better eat in at one of our many great restaurants, to guarantee a table it's a good idea to book.
